The Fall Brawl King Classic was established in 1997 for the sole purpose of giving tournament fishermen a quality produced event during the peak King Mackerel bite.  The Fall Brawl has become one of the country's largest King Mackerel fishing events, annually hosting over 250 boat entries.  The entry fee is $400 with a total payout in excess of $100,000 with the first place winner typically taking home in excess of $30,000.

The Fall Brawl is known for great fishing within close proximity to the event site.  Winning fish are typically caught between the Cape Fear River and Shallotte Inlet, which allows for easy access by boats off all sizes and by fishermen of all budgets.
